Attorneys Michele Laforgia, Giovanni di Cagno and Francesco Paolo Bello, both partners of Polis Avvocati will participate as experts, in the Course “Anticorruption and Transparency” next April 9 at 9 a.m. at IT Panetti Pitagora in Bari organized by ACIF, Italian Cultural Association for Training – MIUR-accredited body.
A.C.I.F (Italian Cultural Association for Training – MIUR-accredited body), in collaboration with the Fidia Academy of Naples and the I.N.P.S General Directorate of Puglia, is organizing a 60-hour professional university refresher course in Bari entitled “Anticorruption and Transparency.” The launch and presentation of the course will take place on April 9 at 9 a.m., at the Panetti-Pitagora Technological Institute, “Panetti” location, 186 King David Street.
Welcoming speakers and trainees was the Head of School, Engineer Eleonora Matteo: “When ACIF proposed to me to host a course that addresses such issues in the service of the INPS, I felt, with the School Board, that we could not fail to grant the request. School is the place for the formation of future citizens,” says Engineer Matteo. “Respect for rules, education for individual and civic responsibility, and the cultural growth of young people represent the main educational goals that Panetti-Pitagora has set as the basis of its Educational Offerings Plan.
Today, the topic of anti-corruption and transparency are addressed on talk shows and in various news outlets,” the principal continues, “but from a more scandalous point of view. Good examples and best practices are rarely emphasized. The habit of a different style of social behavior is necessary, and only knowledge can help us change. We believe that the educational role of our school in this activity, which already has its own tradition in this regard, will be fundamentally, along with the depth and expertise of the speakers who will participate. Therefore, we nominate our school,” Matteo concludes, “not only as the Technological Pole of the city of Bari, but also as a driving force for the creation of an active citizenship laboratory for young people.
Responsible for the training project as well as vice-president of A.C.I.F. is Professor Concetta Ferrara: “Corruption seriously damages the economy and society as a whole,” she told us, “many countries in the world are plagued by deeply rooted corruption that hampers economic development, undermines democracy and damages social justice and the rule of law. By virtue of this and in light of Law 190/12, better known as the “Anticorruption Law,” The course aims to make a contribution to training to combat this scourge.”
In addition to Engineer Matteo, who will open the proceedings, and Professor Ferrara, speakers will include Deputy Public Prosecutor of Foggia Enrico Infante; Bank of Italy Bari Manager Roberta Marzullo; Internationalist lawyer Eleonora Mascolo of Nice; attorneys Michele Laforgia, Giovanni Di Cagno and Francesco Paolo Bello of the Polis firm in Bari; and attorney Giovanni Signorile of the Bari Bar.
Invited guests include Dr. Anna Cammalleri, Head of the Regional School Office; Dr. Francesco Forliano, Head of the Bari Provincial School Office; and a Representative of INPS.
Dr. Stefania Stassi will moderate the meeting.
