Financial statement reform

Reflections on the 2016 financial statements and accounting and tax compliance from 1.1.2016

Bari, Jan. 29, 2016

Legislative Decree No. 139 of Aug. 18, 2015 (the so-called “Financial Statements Decree”), implemented Directive 2013/34/EU, for the part relating to the annual financial statements and consolidated financial statements of corporations and other entities adopting the same discipline.

This directive replaced existing EU regulations with the aim of improving the informative scope of the accounting document and initiating a process of simplifying the administrative burden and, therefore, the regulatory burden governing the preparation and publication of financial statements.

Legislative Decree No. 139/2015 supplements and amends, among other things, the Civil Code, with the aim of aligning the rules contained therein with the provisions of the directive, and is intended to result in numerous and significant impacts for the purpose of preparing the annual financial statements of corporations, starting with fiscal years beginning on or after 1.1.2016.

In order to be able to prepare the 2016 annual financial statements with the support of correctly recorded accounting data since January 1, 2016, in compliance with the new regulations, a course has been organized that aims to make participants acquire the ability to deal with the changes introduced by Legislative Decree no. 139/2015. During the course, participants will be distributed informational materials and, upon request, will be offered a free accounting CHECK-UP involving a certified public accountant at the company’s headquarters to check the accounting setup in line with the changes introduced by Legislative Decree no. 139/2015.

Professionals in the field with specific experience will adopt simple and fluent language so that the entire subject matter can be easily assimilated with practical examples as well.
